Living in the Algarve, light summer clothes are crucial to beat the heat at this time of year. It gets super hot here and there’s nothing worse than heavy clothing. So imagine my delight at getting the opportunity to choose a few items from Bonmarche’s latest swim and beachwear range.
This gorgeous purple swimsuit was my number one choice. I’ve admired this style for a while. I love the way the rouched front hides a multitude of sins around the tummy area – a point of contention for many women. The only thing I’m unkeen on is how it gives me a major VPL – but then I guess most swimsuits do tend to dig in around the booty, right? Hopefully after a little more wear, it will give sufficiently to be a little looser.
I also chose these lovely Bermuda shorts. Although the style could be described as somewhat masculine, the pretty floral print gives them a feminine edge. They’ll be ideal for wearing to the beach (they do look cute with the swimsuit) or a shopping trip with friends, for instance. And with a nice high waist, they’re very comfortable.
Pink Capri Trousers
I’ve also been wanting a pair of coloured capri trousers and these pink ones spoke to me. Although one of my dislikes is visible pocket lines (I just made that up), the comfort factor makes up for it with these Bonmarche cotton trousers. I think they’ll go with loads of things in my wardrobe – dressed up or down will be a great option. Although cotton, they are a little thicker than I’d imagined, so would be perfect for the English summer!
I teamed them with this cute blue top that I’ve had a year or two, pretty Happiness Boutique necklace and gorgeous colourful floral shoes which I just adore. In fact, I’d forgotten how comfortable they are!
Khaki Denim Jacket
And because I’m me (!), I couldn’t resist the Bonmarche khaki denim jacket. I love denim and I love khaki, so it was a no brainer. However, I won’t get much wear out of it over the next few months because it’s just too hot for a jacket here. It was way too hot to even put it on for these photos but rest assured I shall be styling it a lot in the autumnal months. It’s actually on sale at the moment for just £15 (reduced from £25).
If I’m completely honest, Bonmarche is a brand I’d heard of but hadn’t really taken much notice of in the past, but I’m pleasantly surprised. I’ll definitely go back to their site in future. I think they’re very good for wardrobe staples too. If you haven’t had a look yet, visit their site here. They deliver internationally too which is a bonus.
