Fab40s: From the ground up – showcasing some of our favourite shoes

Favourite shoes
The Fab40s is a group of international bloggers who collaborate once a month, using a theme chosen by one of us. This month, Daenel has opted for ‘From the ground up – showcase your ugliest or your most favourite shoes.’ Such a fun theme and the perfect opportunity to finally show you the most beautiful pair of shoes that I own.

You might remember that I got rid of most of my heels earlier this year, because of my bunions. Well…. I certainly wasn’t going to get rid of these beauties! My favourite shoes are none other than a pair of utterly divine Jimmy Choos that hubby bought for me last Christmas.

Favourite shoes

Jimmy Choo

These are the kind of shoes that you gladly suffer to wear on your feet lol! However, I must admit that I didn’t suffer at all wearing them for our mini photo shoot. They’re surprisingly comfortable considering they’ve got quite a massive heel (massive for me anyway lol). Aren’t they absolutely beautiful? I just love the colour – the pale pink/nude with hints of rose gold. They even look good on my rather white legs!

Because my favourite shoes are the star of the show, I knew I couldn’t fight with them with a busy outfit. So what better than a little black dress? Would you believe that I’ve had this dress twenty odd years? I won’t tell you any more about it at the moment because I’m going to write about it next month (in a special feature with the lovely Jacqui from MummaBStylish).

Incidentally, this is the only little black dress I’ve had for ages. OK, so there is one other one in my wardrobe which I bought on a whim because it was a bargain. But I’ve never worn it. It’s super short and super tight and has a snakeskin print running through it (even thought it’s entirely black). I’m not sure if I’ll ever wear it lol. But it’s there for when the time comes!

As for my accessories, again I decided to keep everything simple so the shoes would shine. The gold clutch, the cristal moon necklace and my amethyst ring were all inherited from my late step-mother-in-law. And I bought the earrings a few years ago – I forget exactly where from. Perhaps it was Bijou Brigitte? The denim jacket has appeared numerous times on the blog and I love its versatility. You can literally wear it with anything.

But that’s enough about me. Let’s check out the rest of the Fab40s gals to see how they styled, from the ground up…

Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots

A Pocketful of Polka Dots

Jennie is probably the queen of accessories, especially this month. I cannot get enough of her beautifully arranged necklaces with that shirt and cut-offs. However, it certainly is the shoes which are the STAR here. Aren’t they absolutely divine?

Shelbee from Shelbee on the Edge

Shelbee on the Edge

Shelbee has clearly proven that clogs can be SUPER COOL! AND, they can be worn with tights. I would never have thought to even try them with tights, but just look at how effortless chic this looks. After seeing Shelbee’s outfit, I think I might have to get me some clogs!

Daenel from Living Outsides the Stacks

Daenel Living Outside the Stacks

Daenel and I often share the same taste in clothes. Now I’m not sure if she’d wear my dress this month but I know I would wear this outfit in a heartbeat. Usually, I’d say Daenel rocks librarian chic, however this month she’s got the boho chic down to perfection. I LOVE those sandals!

And our newest member, the lovely Dee from Dee Sayz

Dee Says

Although I’m loving Dee’s shoes, it’s her adorable little handbag that’s grabbing my attention. Isn’t it cute? I also love how the gorgeous colour of her skirt is mirrored on her lips too! You look fabulous Dee – and welcome to the Fab40s!

And me…

And that’s all of us showcasing some of our boldest and brightest favourite shoes. Come back and see what fun is in store this time next month!
