A simple nautical look for a Sunday stroll

I love stripes, and I love a simple nautical look so when I saw these summer trousers for sale in Primark, I couldn’t resist. They’re so comfy, like pyjamas, yet perfect for a stroll down to the beach. Teamed with a simple navy vest from Quebramar, this was a great outfit for a Sunday morning stroll followed by a cup of coffee at Casa Inglesa in Portimao.

For our little stroll, we actually discovered this gorgeous spot, Praia do Molhe, which is situated between Praia do Carvoeiro and Ferragudo. It’s a gorgeous little beach with what looks like a very nice beach bar nestled above it – one that we’ve made a note to check out next time we’re in the vicinity. The view across the bay towards Portimao is second to none. It really is the perfect spot to wile away a Sunday morning. Although at this time of year, I’m sure the beach will soon fill up!

But back to the outfit. Stripes and a simple nautical look. Both are absolute favourite looks of mine. I’ve got lots of striped clothes – mostly tops though, so I figured it was time I got some trousers to even it out. The trousers only cost about ten euros but I did have to take a bit off the hem so I could wear them with flat shoes!

Now that the summer is in full swing, trousers like these really are the ideal choice – their lightweight fabric makes them great for the heat and being wide-legged enables your legs to still breathe. Great if you’re not quite ready to reveal the bright whiteness to the world! And the simple nautical look is always one way to welcome in the summer, don’t you think?
