Wearing my new wide legged wool trousers with a hint of red

Proof that I don’t always take myself too seriously, here’s a picture of my fun animal print socks that I love to wear hidden beneath any outfit. On this occasion, I wore them beneath my new wide-legged wool trousers by Jigsaw that I bought from John Lewis in the January sale. I knew I had to have them as soon as I tried the trousers on – they were half price and fit perfectly so a no-brainer, really 😉

Vintage-inspired

I bought the Hush Puppies brogues from Schuh about five years ago and they’re still a firm favourite around this time of year. I love the pretty design on them and the fact that they’re a little vintage inspired. As is the black top beneath the cardigan, which is something I’ve had even longer. It has a hint of the Victorian era, don’t you think? It’s the frill at the collar combined with the ‘bib’ style addition at the front. I absolutely love it. It certainly gets a lot of wear in the cooler months. It has short sleeves with a little additional frill which is a nice touch when it’s warm enough not to bother with a cardie.

A hint of red

I added the simple red cardigan from H&M for a dash of colour and also to tie in my scrumptious new handbag (a gift from Jackie, my mother-in-law) which you will remember from just a few posts ago where I showcased an entire outfit she bought for me.

Simple and comfy

This was a comfy and simple outfit for a fun evening out to a friend’s house for dinner – one I practically threw together with hardly a thought (I love it when that happens). It was probably helped by the fact we were running a bit late, hence why most of the photos came out a bit blurred because hubby was rushing to leave lol. Typical, huh?
