The Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour is an absolute dream. We visited the day after my 40th birthday (sadly, they were closed on my actual birthday) and I was ecstatic with excitement the moment I woke up. I couldn’t wait to get there. Located in Leavesden, near Watford, the studio is pretty easy to find (granted, we did use the sat nav) but once you’re in the general area, there are signs everywhere and once you get close, you just… Read more »

A few days after Christmas we headed up to Lincoln so I could have my first tattoo at 40. Earlier in the year, I’d done a tonne of research online to find the best tattoo artist in the areas I’d be holidaying within the UK. Alex Stark at The Tattooed Arms stood out to me so I emailed him. He was fully booked for months, however (as if it was meant to be) he had one date available and it just happened… Read more »

Fontevraud Abbey is certainly not your average hotel. It’s by the far the most unique place I’ve ever visited and I hope to one day return. Boy was it a treat! Scroll through the pictures below to see more of this amazing place. I’ve always been fascinated by old buildings, especially cathedrals, churches, castles and abbeys (etc). So when I read about Fontevraud, I just had to make it my mission to visit. I think I shrieked out loud when we… Read more »

The Château Smith Haut Lafitte is a stunning place to visit whilst in the Bordeaux region of France. We were lucky enough to be given a tour of the vineyard after spending a wonderful evening right next door at Les Sources de Caudalie. Not only that but we also got the chance to taste the delicious wines on offer. We also bought a bottle of sweet white wine (see the picture right at the bottom of the post) to drink on… Read more »

Truly one of the most magical places I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting, Les Sources de Caudalie should be on everyone’s must-visit list. A luxury spa, hotel and vineyard, this place has got it all. I felt thoroughly spoiled whilst staying there in December – sadly, we were only passing through and could therefore only stay for one night* but when I return in the future, I shall be sure to spend several days there. We received a particularly warm welcome… Read more »

I’ve wanted a pair of leather-look leggings for months but never found the right ones, so when I got the chance to try out this gorgeous pair* from UK Tights, I jumped at the chance. After liaising with UK Tights and deciding to try a larger pair (I was told this particular brand can come up a tad small sometimes), I waited for them to arrive in the post. I didn’t have to wait long. Sadly, the leggings were took baggy… Read more »

We spent our very first night in a Medieval Castle recently! Cool huh? At the Siguenza Parador: what an amazing place! It’s located northeast of Madrid and we were lucky enough to stay there en-route from the Algarve to England – it was the perfect stop-off point. I would highly recommend it if you’re thinking about driving back and want somewhere a little different to stay. We drove for 8 and a half hours but I would suggest you stop… Read more »

Hello. It’s me (sorry… I have Adele stuck in my head) and I’m finally back from my holidays! Five amazing weeks where we toured through Spain and France in order to get to England where we spent Christmas with my Mum-in-law before heading up to visit various wonderful friends and family, before then going over to Wales where we holidayed for two weeks (take a breath). I can’t quite believe it’s all over now though. Cue sad face 🙁 Sadly, our… Read more »

Recently we visited the beautiful town of Siguenza and I was blown away by its beauty. En-route from the Algarve to England, we’d found the town online (beforehand) and decided to visit – I had no idea it was going to be so breathtaking! There were lots of pretty little stone houses as well as the most gorgeous cathedral – not to mention the castle. We arrived mid afternoon, so just had a little bit of time to explore before the… Read more »

It seems like ages ago that I was telling you about the search for my perfect winter coat. Well, it finally came to an end well in time for my holiday in the colder weather when I eventually came across this gorgeous black coat in Massimo Dutti (where else?!). It’s perfect for travelling because it weighs next to nothing, unlike the coat I wore on last year’s US holiday which actually made my shoulders ache! This one is easy to wear, it goes… Read more »
