A night in Lisbon

Last weekend we spent a night in Lisbon. We’d been invited to a friend’s place for a birthday party which was great fun. It was also the perfect opportunity to practise my Portuguese, considering most party-goers weren’t English speaking. I know, I know what you’re thinking. I’ve lived here 31 years, why does she need to practise her Portuguese? The thing is, I rarely get to speak the language. Sounds completely insane, right? Most of our close friends are foreigners… Read more »

I’ve never really been a fan of culottes but when I spotted these denim culottes in Pull & Bear a couple of years ago, I figured I’d give them a try. They’ve featured once on the blog before (with a Harry Potter tee and Converse) but never with boots. I have to admit that it’s a look that’s taken me some time to come round to, to say the least. I will wear what I like In typical husband fashion, Michael… Read more »

Everyday outfit

This is one of my favourite looks for day to day wear. Yes, it’s nothing more than a simple everyday outfit that I wear pretty much all the time. Skinny jeans, sneakers, tee-shirt, cardigan and a cross-body handbag. It’s comfortable and best of all: super easy to wear.   Everyday outfit: jeans You’ve seen everything I’m wearing on the blog before. The Levi’s have been featured numerous times before because they are undoubtedly my favourite pair of jeans –… Read more »

Wide legged jeans

An outfit that I consider to be the epitome of chic is wide legged trousers with brogues, which got me thinking, why not wide-legged jeans with brogues? Hm? So last week I thought I’d try my favourite pink brogues with my favourite soft wide-legged jeans. A girlie cardigan which is pulled in at the waist and a grey and pink scarf completed the look. This is one of those outfits that just seemed to happen and I must say I love it. Because it was a tad chilly when we first left the… Read more »

Not only was yesterday a windy and chilly day, but I was also suffering from a horrible head cold (courtesy of hubby) but still we headed out and tried to get some decent pictures. As you can see, we mostly failed (!) but I wanted to show you my new loafers, fishnets and a cute embellished top anyway. Loafers The navy loafers were bought from Massimo Dutti in the January sales and they are very cool (if I don’t say… Read more »

I’d been wanting to buy one of these for ages but hadn’t found one that I loved. Until, that is, I walked into one of my favourite stores, Massimo Dutti, and finally found the perfect bodywarmer. It also just happened to be reduced from €60 to €50 at the time! Clearly it was meant to be. I do have another body warmer in my wardrobe; a grey one that I bought from Fat Face a few years ago. I love it… Read more »

Finding the perfect dress to suit your figure

I’ve mentioned before how difficult it can be finding the perfect dress to suit your figure. But after wearing my cute yellow dress a couple of weeks ago, I received so many compliments that I decided that this must be the style for me. So I went right out and bought another one! Clearly it’s not exactly the same, as this khaki cut-out dress has a different shoulder detail, but it hangs the same – skimming over the bust and flares out just a little over the stomach and hips…. Most comfortable jeans ever1

I recently bought (another) pair of jeans from Massimo Dutti and they are the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever had. I mean, seriously, they’re like wearing pyjamas. The fabric is so soft and wonderful I could wear them all day! Not only that but I also love the button – isn’t it cute?   With a wide leg and sitting fairly low on the hips, this is one pair of comfortable jeans that will be cherished over the years. However, after… Read more »

Denim on denim – you either love it or hate it. I happen to love it (most of the time) probably because I happen to be in love with denim. I’m a massive fan of jeans (which, I’m sure you’ve noticed by now). I love how versatile a great pair of jeans can be. You can dress them up or dress them down yet you’ll always be comfortable. And comfort is something that is really important to me. Denim on denim is… Read more »

I’ve always loved the gypsy top but the ones I’ve tried on over the past few years have left me feeling a little uninspired until I found this one (in the sale earlier this year) from Pull & Bear. It literally cost me a few euros – a total bargain! I put it on for the first time the other evening and decided I didn’t like the sleeves so I chopped them off! I think it’s much better with a… Read more »
