If you’ve been reading my blog recently, you might remember my post about finding your signature style. In that post, I focussed on a favourite look of mine: wearing dresses with jeans. I mentioned that I’d bought a couple more dresses to do just that. This floral number is one of the ones I bought. I love the deep V-neck, although I did opt for a camisole to wear underneath just to preserve my modesty!
On this particular evening, we had some fantastic friends – a lovely couple – over for dinner. I was so delighted when she told me how much this look suits me YAY! It’s actually a look that suits a lot of people. A deep v-neck that looks somewhat like a wrap dress that skims over the hips, perfect!
A statement necklace always looks great with a v-neck and I was delighted to finally wear this one. I bought it a few years ago from H&M (in the sale for next to nothing) and, would you believe it, I’ve never actually worn it. Crazy huh? But it just seemed to go perfectly with this dress.
As for my beautiful shoes, I simply adore this pair. And yes, this is the first time I’ve worn them too! Deep blue velvet, they have a slight 1940s vibe to them, which is what drew me to them in the first place. And again, they were an absolute bargain in the sales (Pull & Bear).
This beautiful bracelet is one I inherited from my late step-mother-in-law. The jeans are really high-waisted ones that I picked up from H&M. Michael isn’t so keen on them because he thinks they make my bum look a bit flat – but with a dress, I don’t need to worry about that! When you’re wearing a dress this shape with jeans, I do recommend high-waisted ones to avoid any bulkiness around the hips.
