I can’t quite believe I’m writing this, but here we are… All of my books are now available as audiobooks on Amazon and Audible. Every single one.
This has been one of those long, slow, behind-the-scenes goals that’s sat on my list for years. Not because I didn’t want audiobooks — very much the opposite — but because getting them made has always felt just out of reach.
Until now.
Why Audiobooks Matter (More Than We Sometimes Realise)

Audiobooks aren’t just a nice extra. For a lot of people, they’re the way books are experienced.
Some people:
- Don’t read physical books anymore
- Have visual difficulties
- Struggle with migraines, eye strain, or fatigue
- Are neurodivergent and process stories better through sound
- Or simply don’t have time to sit and read, but love listening while walking, driving, cooking, or resting
Stories deserve to be accessible. Full stop.
So knowing that my books can now be listened to — not just read — genuinely means a lot to me.
Why I Didn’t Record These Audiobooks Myself (I Did Try…)
A couple of years ago, I had this very romantic idea that I’d record my own audiobooks.
I mean… how hard could it be, right?
Just sit down, read your own book, job done.
Well. No.
Recording an audiobook is far harder than people think:
- You need proper soundproofing (my house was not quiet)
- You have to keep your voice consistent for HOURS
- You can’t cough, sniff, swallow, breathe loudly, or exist as a human
- One tiny mistake means re-recording entire sections
- Editing alone is a full-time job
It quickly went from “this will be lovely” to “why am I torturing myself?”
So I scrapped the idea. Not because I didn’t care — but because I care about quality.
The Reality: Professional Narration Is Expensive

I’d absolutely love to hire a professional narrator one day. Truly.
But I also want to be honest with you.
Book selling is extremely difficult, especially for indie authors.
I’ve never made very much from my books at all — not even close to what people imagine when they hear “author”.
So paying thousands for narration simply hasn’t been possible.
Maybe one day, if I sell a LOT more books, that will change. I hope so.
But I also didn’t want to keep waiting forever.
Enter: KDP Virtual Voice (And Why I’m Grateful for It)

Amazon’s KDP Virtual Voice technology made this possible for me.
Is it perfect? No.
Is it human? Obviously not.
But is it clear, consistent, affordable, and accessible? Yes — and that matters.
I spent a long time choosing a British woman’s voice that felt as close to me as I could find. That was really important to me. I wanted the tone to feel warm, familiar, and fitting for the stories — not robotic or jarring.
And honestly? I’m proud of the result.
A Small Win, But a Meaningful One

This might not be a flashy, bestseller-style announcement.
But for me, it’s a real milestone.
My stories are now:
- Easier to access
- Available to more people
- Ready to be listened to in a whole new way
And that feels like progress.
If you’re someone who loves audiobooks — or if reading physical books just isn’t your thing anymore — I really hope this opens a new door for you.
Thank You (Always)
If you’ve ever read, listened to, shared, reviewed, or even just thought kindly about my books — thank you. Truly.
Being an author is often quiet, lonely, and wildly unglamorous. But moments like this remind me why I keep going.
Here’s to stories being heard — literally.
