Kimono with shorts for an unsuccessful shopping trip

Yesterday I wore my kimono with shorts and a vest top to go shopping for a new standing lamp and coffee table. In hindsight though, we shouldn’t have gone at the weekend because it was a bit crazy down there. At one point, we exited Mar Shopping to have a quick look at the Outlet (which is right next door) and realised we couldn’t get back in unless we queued for goodness knows how long! Plus, we couldn’t get any food because of the restrictions so we ended up driving the 45 minutes back home empty handed and hungry.

Luckily though, Michael is having a couple of weeks off so we can go back during the week and try and get what we were looking for. A month ago, we ordered a new leather sofa from Chateau D’Ax and were told it wouldn’t be delivered until October. But then last Thursday we received a phone call asking if they could deliver it on Friday!! This doesn’t normally happen lol. Needless to say, we were delighted!

It’s a beautiful corner sofa in a kind of hazelnut tan colour. I’ll show you what it looks like when we’ve got the coffee table and lamp some time this week (hopefully!). We’re thrilled with it, although it’s taking some time getting used to the firmness of it lol. You see, our last leather sofa was over 20 years old so it was well worn it and we’d sink into it. We loved it, but it was definitely time for a new one.

But back to my kimono with shorts. I don’t often share images of myself in shorts because I’m really not that fond of the way my legs look in them. I know, I’m silly. But we all have things about ourselves that we dislike. And mine is my legs, especially as I get older because they’re becoming slightly more lumpier and bumpier and the thread veins are becoming more pronounced! Not to mention the cellulite! But I won’t go there lol. It’s actually one of the reasons why I like this kimono with shorts combination—I feel like the kimono hides the backs of my legs perfectly lol. Sneaky, right?!

I’ve actually had these shorts for years. I bought them in Primark. I like that they have a bit of a higher waist although I would prefer them to be a little longer. But they do the job! I bought several of these vest (tank) tops last summer from Intimissimi—all the same, just in different colours, because I love the built-in bras. Intimissimi is my current favourite store for underwear. They do the best lace knickers, and great boxers for Michael too.

My handbag is classic Desigual and my sandals (which I wear almost ALL the time at the moment lol) were from the Timberland outlet store. I simply adore them. They’re super comfortable and they give me a little extra height!

Well, I guess that’s enough for today. I’m a busy bee at the moment. I’m trying to get as many pre-made book covers created as possible to sell on my other blog. If you’re an author, and you’re looking for an affordable book cover, please come and check out my pre-made book cover sales page (which I’m calling Covers by Suzy), and share it with your author pals! Thank you so much, my friends! <3
