Midlife Women on YouTube: The Voices We Need Right Now

Midlife Women on YouTube

I don’t know about you, but sometimes it can feel like once you hit a certain age online… you sort of disappear. Not in real life (thankfully), but on YouTube and social media? It can feel like it’s all twenty-somethings doing GRWMs and morning routines that start at 5am (absolutely not, thank you very much). And if you’ve ever tried to find midlife women on YouTube and struggled… you’re not alone.

Which is exactly why, when I came across this list of midlife women on YouTube by Allie Rambles, it felt like such a breath of fresh air.

Now don’t get me wrong — I follow plenty of women in their 20s and 30s, and I genuinely love their content. There’s so much creativity, energy and inspiration there. But… they just don’t know what we know yet, do they?

They’re not going through what we’re going through. The hormonal shifts, the life reflections, the “what now?” moments, the changes in our bodies, our energy, our priorities… that deeper layer that comes with midlife. And sometimes — not always, but sometimes — I just want to hear from someone who gets it. Someone who’s in it too. Those kindred spirits.

We’re Not Invisible… Even If the Internet Sometimes Thinks We Are

The whole point of Allie’s list is to highlight women over 40, 50 and beyond who are creating content, sharing their lives, and showing up online as they are — no pretending, no filtering themselves into oblivion.

And honestly? It’s needed. Because if you actively try to find midlife creators, it’s not always that easy. We’re here, but we’re not always being put front and centre. Instead, we’re often pushed towards content about “anti-ageing” or “fixing” ourselves.

And I don’t know about you, but I’m not interested in being “fixed”. I’m interested in living. Growing. Evolving. Creating. And I want to see other women doing the same.

The Beauty of Midlife Women on YouTube (That No One Talks About Enough)

What I love most about this collection of creators is the range. You’ve got women starting over after divorce, travelling solo, diving into spirituality, talking honestly about menopause (finally), creating art, books, businesses, whole new lives. It’s not one version of midlife — it’s all of them.

And there’s something about watching women our age that just hits differently. There’s a depth there. A knowing. A groundedness. Less pretending. Less pressure to be perfect. More truth.

And honestly? I find this stage of life far more interesting than my 20s ever were.

Being Included… and Why It Means More Than I Expected

I actually came across the list while I was doing exactly what I always seem to be doing — searching for other women my age creating content online. Because let’s be honest, we’re not always the easiest to find.

When I saw what Allie had put together, I thought it was such a brilliant idea that I reached out and shared my channel… and she very kindly added me to the list.

And I won’t lie, it gave me one of those quiet little moments. You know the ones. The ones where you think… oh… I’m part of this.

Not just creating into the void. Not just uploading videos and hoping someone out there gets it. But actually being included in a wider group of women doing the same thing — supporting each other, showing up, and putting ourselves out there. And that meant more than I expected it to.

Why We Need More Midlife Women on YouTube

There’s something really special about seeing women our age showing up as they are. Women who are not trying to be 25. Not apologising for being 50. Not shrinking themselves to fit into some outdated idea of what we “should” be. Just… living. Creating. Sharing. Being visible.

And the more we see each other, the more normal it becomes. The braver we feel. The easier it is to start something new, or keep going, or show up even when it feels vulnerable. Because suddenly… you’re not the only one.

Let’s Stick Together, Shall We?

If you’re a midlife creator, or even just thinking about becoming one — take this as your sign. There is space for you. There are women out there who will get you.

And if you’re someone who watches, reads, follows — go and support these women. Subscribe, comment, share, connect. Because this little corner of the internet? It deserves to grow.

And I, for one, am very happy to be part of it. You can find my YouTube channel here.
