The Praxos Academy Series: a fresh new look

You know when people say, “At least you had a backup”? Yeah… not so much. Recently, I had one of those heart-stopping, stomach-dropping moments no writer ever wants to experience. I lost everything. (I talked about it in a previous blog post, but didn’t go into much detail about the different books.) I’m not even being dramatic. I lost all the original files for all my books including The Praxos Academy series. Every book manuscript. Every piece of formatting. And heartbreakingly, all the book cover images I’d poured hours of work into using Affinity. I’d worked so hard on those covers a few years ago and was genuinely proud of them. But they’re gone.

And here’s the kicker: I did have a backup. Two, actually. The originals were stored on both my computer and a hard drive. But in the same week (yes, really), the hard drive died and iCloud decided to wipe my entire Documents folder clean. I couldn’t believe it. I tried everything to recover them, but nothing worked. So, with more than a few choice words, I dumped the hard drive, disconnected iCloud (!!!), and started over.

And maybe… it was for the best. Those original covers, while still close to my heart, looked a little dated when I stepped back. So I took it as a sign. Time to refresh everything. And I mean everything—from the covers to the interior formatting, bios, book lists—you name it. I had to download each book chapter by chapter from Amazon (thankfully they store the HTML files), reassemble them all, and make sure they were neat and tidy.

Five books. One novella. And a lot of coffee.

And now… The Praxos Academy is looking polished, clean, and refreshed on Amazon. All I need now is for people to read them (and maybe leave a cheeky review… please and thank you?!)

So if you haven’t read them yet, or fancy revisiting the world of Praxos, here’s a reminder of what they’re all about:

Daisy Madigan’s Paradise, a Praxos Academy novella

Daisy Madigan's Paradise

A Praxos Academy Novella (0.5)
A gorgeously eerie prequel set in a haunted cemetery, this one’s perfect if you love ghost stories and girls with secrets. Daisy’s journey is filled with whispers from beyond the veil—and something darker lurking among the tombstones.

“A fantastically evocative YA novella perfect for both younger and older teens.”

The Ghost of Josiah Grimshaw

The Ghost of Josiah Grimshaw

Book One
When fifteen-year-old Emma and her sister Lana wake up with strange tattoos and new powers, they’re thrown into the secretive world of Praxos—a hidden academy training young supernatural Watchers. Their first mission? Help a ghost solve a century-old mystery. What could possibly go wrong?

“This book could be the beginnings of a series as good as those by J.K. Rowling!”

The Temporal Stone

The Temporal Stone

Book Two
Time has stopped. Literally. Except for Emma and Lana and the Watchers. The only way to fix it? Find the lost Temporal Stone. Cue an epic road trip, a battle against magical mayhem, and a race against time… even though it’s frozen.

“One of the best books I’ve read—brill!!! Would definitely recommend this whole book set.”

Looking for Lucy Jo

Looking for Lucy Jo

Book Three
A quiet Christmas turns into a frantic, heart-pounding mission when the girls’ younger sister, Lucy Jo, vanishes. Packed with danger, secrets, and a hint of forbidden romance, this one really turns up the emotional stakes.

“Adventure, the supernatural, excitement, mystery and light romance all wrapped up in a great storyline.”

We Stand Against Evil

We Stand Against Evil

Book Four
The battle for Praxos is here. With the academy under threat and one of their own kidnapped, Emma and Lana face enemies who can literally tear holes in space and time. The conclusion is epic, magical, and a little bit heart-wrenching.

“Love all the books and recommend them to all my friends and family.”

Praxos Academy Box Set

Despite the stress, I’m actually really proud of how it’s all turned out. And I’m even more excited to get back into sharing this world with all of you. If you’ve never dived into Praxos, now’s the perfect time. And if you’ve already read the series, maybe it’s time for a re-read with fresh eyes?

Let me know what you think of the new covers or if you’ve got a favourite Morgan sister moment—I’d love to hear it.
