Sagres is probably the most chilled out place I know

Blue outfit in Sagres18

Last week we took a drive down to the most south western town of the Algarve. Sagres is probably the most chilled out place I know. With a spectacular beach and some lovely little eateries, it’s somewhere every visitor should check out.

Located far west of Lagos, Sagres is full of surfers and beach-goers looking for the ultimate wave or just a beautiful patch of sand on which to chill out. We stopped for a morning drink in a lovely little cafe (which I’ll tell you more about next week) before meandering down towards the beach to have a proper little look and then we drove further into the town – somewhere we’d actually never been before (having lived here 30 years!) and found a very pretty little cove and marina / port. I couldn’t resist clicking away with my camera – taking far too many photos of the little boats moored there. But it was such a beautiful day with deep blue skies and an azure blue sea. It really is quite stunning.

If you happen to be in the area around Sagres, then I would also recommend you take a trip down to the most south-westerly point of Europe – Cape St. Vincent. We didn’t go on this occasion because we’ve been hundreds of times before. It’s absolutely spectacular – but do take a cardigan because it can blow a gale down there!

Decathlon shorts

As for my outfit, because it was so warm that morning, I actually got my legs out and wore a pair of shorts. My legs, as you can see, are brilliant white! Shocking for someone who lives in such a sunny climate, I know. But I’m not a sun worshipper, I never have been. And I usually keep my legs covered – for good reason. You need sunglasses to look at them! A friend of mine insisted I try some fake tan so I did actually buy some this week. I’ll let you know how that goes in a couple of weeks lol! Anyway, my blue shorts came from Decathlon last summer, my top is a new one from Quebramar and my shoes were a gift from a friend. And I bought the mustard yellow handbag from one of the stalls in Lagos earlier this year.
