Black and gold – one of the best colour combinations, wouldn’t you agree? Which is why I just had to buy this black and gold top from Massimo Dutti last week. You can’t see in the image above, but the blouse has a fine gold stripe throughout (see below). So I added a few gold accessories (handbag, earrings, watch and ring!) when we went out for an Indian meal at the weekend.
As you know, I’m a huge fan of Massimo Dutti and this top yelled at me to buy it. Not only is it a super gorgeous colour, but I just love that it’s like a dressy tee-shirt too. Perfect with skinny jeans and (semi) high heeled sandals.
It would also work well tucked into the jeans too but if you’re feeling at all bloated (or just having an off-day – like I was) then it’s the ideal evening blouse because it doesn’t cling at all, it just skims over the body perfectly.
As mentioned, I chose to pair the blouse with gold accessories. This circular ring was a gift form my mother-in-law and is a favourite of mine. The ear-rings, cost me 1 euro in the sale at Bijou Brigitte! Bargain, right? And the gold-rimmed sunglasses came from H&M. The watch is a beautiful Michael Kors watch – also a gift from a very lovely lady 😀
We neglected to take a decent photo of my handbag but it’s gold on one side (as well as the strap) and the front has wide dark brown and gold stripes. It was one of my first eBay purchases years ago when my ideal handbag was a slouchy bag! How times have changed 😉
These photos were taken by the beach in Armação de Pêra just steps away from the Indian Restaurant where we had dinner. If you’ve never been to Armação de Pêra beach, I’d recommend you do – it’s one of the best in the region.

I have a lovely few lines about gold and black but they are in Dutch and it doesn’t translate very well. It underlines your (and mine) feeling that gold and black are so good together.
