Skirts or dresses for Ada’s birthday

This week, we’re helping the fabulous style and mommy blogger, Ada Furxi to celebrate her birthday. She does it every year – celebrates in style with a whole bunch of awesome bloggers. This year all she asked was that we wear either skirts or dresses in our blog post today (and some others will be posting tomorrow).

I decided to opt for a skirt for Ada’s birthday celebrations. I’d been considering wearing horizontal stripes with vertical stripes for some time, but hadn’t quite got round to it until now. What do you think? Do you think it goes together? I actually quite like it – it’s a fun ensemble, right?
My black and white vertical striped skirt was a gift from my mother-in-law several years ago and I’ve only worn it once on the blog. You can find the post here. I wore it with my favourite black gothic Doc Martens and talked about how peed off I was at the term ‘age appropriate’ when it comes to style! Just forgive the poor quality photos though lol.
SHOP THE LOOK
[shopr_shopthepost collection=”adas-birthday-bash-post” size=”medium” show_product_title=”yes” show_product_price=”yes”]I picked up this cute little horizontal striped top in a local charity shop a couple of years ago and I usually only wear it with high waisted jeans because it’s not very long. My red cardigan is one that features a lot here. I bought it from H&M and I have the same cardie in several colours because I love their versatility.

As for my shoes. Aren’t they divine? Sadly, they’re a little on the small side so I can’t wear them when it’s too warm or really cold (with tights) so I only have a short window in the year when I can wear them. Crazy, I know. But I do love them, with their scalloped edge and ankle strap. They’ve kind of got a 1940s vibe to them which is what drew me to them in the first place. Along with the gorgeous colour red, that is. I bought them from Schuh, which is one of my favourite shoe shops.
And now to the super fabulous handbag – you’ve seen it before, and many of you have commented on how fab it is. It was another gift from mother-in-law and certainly is one of a kind!
I can’t even remember how long I’ve had these earrings. Not can I remember where I bought them! All I do remember is that I bought them to go with a handkerchief-style necklace I have that’s the same kind of chainmail look to it. Do you have think I’ve ever worn them together? Nope, of course not! But now that I’ve brought it up, perhaps I will. Let’s see, shall we? 😉

And that’s it, that’s my skirts or dresses outfit for the lovely Ada’s birthday bash! Head on over to check out Ada’s skirts of dresses post for her birthday. You can find her at Elegancy & Mommyhood.

Have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADA! I wish I could be there to celebrate with you. Hugs <3 <3
