13 fabulous finds — a new monthly series

I’m always finding brilliant sites, shops, Instagram accounts, pretty things, TV shows, books, etc and I never think to jot them down to share with you. So, from today, I’ve decided to start a monthly post featuring 13 Fabulous Finds that I’ve stumbled across recently. Why 13, you ask? No particular reason, apart from the fact I’ve always rather liked the number 13. So, here we go… 13 Fabulous Finds…

1. Outta Puff Daddys

I can’t remember how I found these guys, but I think someone recommended them to me. And now I can’t get enough of them! They’re a group of blokes in the UK who get together to do some serious ‘dad dancing’ and they’re brilliant, quite frankly. I love that they’re so chilled out and willing to share their moves with the rest of the world! Find them on Insta at outta_puff_daddys.

2. &Keep

www.andkeep.com is a wonderful little site that sells products that are reusable, eco-friendly and sustainable. Here is what they say, “We believe that everyone should have the freedom to acquire mindful goods with the protection of the planet at heart; and to choose the unseen makers of the world – items with rich stories behind them. We also believe there are plastic-free or reusable alternatives for most things in life, if you look a little harder.”
I think this little company deserves huge success, don’t you?

3. E-scooters!

So, if you follow me here or on Instagram, you might have seen me mention e-scooters a couple of times over the past few weeks. That’s because my husband and two of our pals went out and bought one each. They had so much fun scootering around Portimao (our local town), that they insisted that I should buy one too. I didn’t take much persuading lol. Since then, we’ve been out several times and had a whale of a time! The one I bought is the Mi Eletric Scooter Pro 2 and I couldn’t be happier with it. If you want to feel like a kid again, then I can’t recommend them enough! If you happen to be reading this in Portugal, I bought mine from Worten, and my hubby and friends got theirs from the Mi Shop in Mar Shopping.

4. Encanto | Disney movie

I briefly touched upon this in my recent khaki shirt dress post, but I watched Encanto a month or so ago, and boy did I LOVE it! What a fabulous film. It’s one of those movies that you can watch with the whole family, which is filled with magic and joy. But it’s not just that, that caught my attention. It was Mirabelle’s outfit lol. I adored what she was wearing—so much so that I’d like to recreate it somehow. I just need to find a few new items, like a skirt, top and sandals lol. The one thing I do have that is perfect, is the handbag that I wore with that khaki shirt dress outfit!

5. Oprah Winfrey’s inspirational talk

This is probably an old one, but it’s a good one. Oprah has always been a huge inspiration to me. I adore that woman (and wish she would run for president!), so anything that comes out of her mouth inspires me. This particular video popped up on my YouTube feed a couple of days ago and I just had to share it with you….

6. Tessa Metcalfe Jewellery

I’ve long had my eye on a piece of jewellery by London-based artist, Tessa Metcalfe, so I was delighted to have finally bought one of her rings a few months ago. I have mentioned it before but I thought Tessa deserves a proper mention here. Tessa’s story about how she got into this field is just amazing. She is completely self taught, and is obsessed with pigeons (I love them too!). You can read all about it on her bio page here.

7. Scoop n Dough | Lisbon

Best vegan donuts in the world! https://www.scoopndough.pt/

8. Inside Cara Delevingne’s L.A. Home | Open Door | Architectural Digest

I have two words for you: Vagina Tunnel

9. Chateau Hotel and Spa Grand Barrail | Saint Emilion | France

So, technically, this isn’t a new find because we’ve stayed there twice already (once last year and again in March). But we loved it both times and we cannot recommend it enough. Located really close to one of the prettiest villages in France, Saint Emilion, the Chateau Grand Barrail is simply stupendous! Fab service, fab food, fab rooms. And, despite not having a vegan option on the menu, the chef made us the most divine vegan dinner. Shall I go on?

10. 73 Questions With Olivia Colman | Vogue

Don’t you just adore Olivia Colman? Not only is she amazingly talented, she’s also incredibly funny…see for yourself…

11. Vegan chocolate cake to die for!

So I’ve been baking this cake for quite a few months now, and it always goes down well. The only change to the recipe that I do, is I swap out the regular flour for gluten free. And believe me, it’s still super yummy! The addition of the peanut butter really gives it that something extra. Try it! I’d love to know what you think of it. I did have photos but I appear to have lost them!

12. Colleen Heidemann | Instagram

I’ve been a follower of Colleen for some time now, and it always amazes me when I get a response to one of my comments. She is such a beautiful model with a fabulous sense of humour. She also frequently talks about how amazing her team is. In my comment on this post, I told her I want to be her lol! Find her at colleen_heidemann.

13. New Kids on the Block: Bring Back The Time (Ft Salt-N-Pepa, Rick Astley, En Vogue) (Official Video)

If you were born in the mid 70s, like I was, then you’re going to want to watch this. I was a HUGE fan of New Kids on the Block back in the day, and I couldn’t believe it when I stumbled across a catchy new song, featuring some of the 80s / 90s biggest stars. Not only that, but the video is just hilarious! Love these guys and gals…
