Goodbye, Disqus! My Blog Has a New Comments Section

If you’ve visited my blog recently, you may have noticed that the comments section looks a little different!

For years, I’ve used Disqus to manage comments on my blog. At the time, it seemed like a great idea, but over the years it became more and more frustrating to use. Not only did it start displaying rather questionable adverts (which really didn’t fit the vibe of my little corner of the internet!), but I was also having increasing problems replying to your comments.

If you’ve ever left me a lovely comment and wondered why I never replied, I wanted you to know that it was never because I hadn’t read it. I always read every single comment, and I genuinely appreciate every one of them. I often meant to reply, but Disqus seemed determined to make that as awkward as possible, and before I knew it, weeks (or even months!) had gone by.

Comments on the blog

So I’ve finally decided it was time to say goodbye to Disqus and return to WordPress’s own commenting system.

I’m hoping this means replying to your comments will be much easier from now on, so if you’ve been patiently waiting for me to become a better correspondent, this should hopefully help!

As a bonus, those rather random sponsored adverts have disappeared too, which I’m very happy about. I much prefer keeping the blog looking clean and welcoming.

Now, I have one small favour to ask… Would you mind leaving me a quick comment below?

It can be as simple as saying “Hello!”, letting me know where you’re visiting from, or telling me what you’ve been up to lately. I just want to make sure everything is working properly after the change (and, if I’m honest, it gives me a good excuse to start putting my new-and-improved replying skills into practice!).

Thanks, as always, for taking the time to visit my blog and for being part of this lovely little community. It really does mean the world to me. I look forward to chatting with you in the comments!
