My Review of Serendipity

Pauline Barclay’s latest book, Serendipity is the perfect read for lovers of British cozy mysteries. If you love the likes of Midsomer Murders or McDonald & Dodds, then you should give it a read. You might wonder why I’m comparing a book to TV shows—well, it’s simply because I’m not normally a reader of regular cozy mysteries like this, but I do love to watch these kinds of TV series! With my passion for all things magical, I tend to read more witchy and paranormal cozy mysteries. However, this was a lovely change from all that supernatural stuff.
This is the first novella in the Gardner & Chattaway mystery series, and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next for this sleuthing duo. I particularly loved the main character’s assistant Roo, who is the quirky one of the two (I always fall in love with the quirky secondary characters), not to mention the adorable little office dog! Speaking of which, have a look at the gorgeous cover—notice anything? Yes, there’s the cutest little doggie on there!
