A beautiful example of street art

There’s a road that I drive down sometimes which has the most beautiful example of street art on it. Situated between Portimão and Praia da Rocha (the old road) in the Algarve, there’s this long yellow wall and then just when the you reach the end, you think there’s an old Portuguese lady leaning out of the window looking at you. But it’s not real. It’s art. There’s no window, and no old lady. I think it’s absolutely incredible. I don’t know who the artist is, but he/she is amazing! Here’s a close-up:

And here’s what it looks like from the road:

Isn’t it beautiful? I absolutely loathe graffiti but street art is another matter altogether. Lately I have noticed more and more art like this in the Algarve and some of it really is quite impressive. What do you think? Are you a fan?

I love street art thats well done. Even some graffiti is beautifully applied. Some councils in England have adopted a positive approach, encouraging good work in designated areas. If it stops mindless vandalism in unwanted places I think it’s a good thing. I always think art is a wonderful way for person to express themselves.
