Hot chocolate and coffee from The Skinny Caffe

After reading about The Skinny Caffe online, I recently reached out to them to ask if I could try some of their products. They very kindly sent me some orange flavoured Hot Chocolate, some breakfast coffee and some Thermosyn weight loss capsules. The capsules I’ve actually given to a close friend who is really hoping to lose weight. I’ll keep you posted how she gets on.

As for the coffee, I’ve been drinking a cup every morning, fifteen minutes before breakfast as suggested on the packet. The coffee itself is quite unusual. It’s certainly not your average cup of jo. For starters, it contains berries! Acai, Juniper and Goji berries. Yes, those delicious little berries that were classed a superfood a few years ago. The main ingredients though, are: roasted coffee, un-roasted green coffee and coconut milk powder, among other things. All of which are natural ingredients – which is why I wanted to try The Skinny Caffe out in the first place. Oh, and the by the way, each cup of coffee only contains 9 calories.

Having such a sweet tooth myself, I needed to add a spoonful of honey to the mix, as well as a little coconut milk which made it quite delicious first thing in the morning – but probably negates the calorie issue lol.

The Skinny Caffe

The Skinny CaffeI’ve been enjoying a hot chocolate in the afternoon (not in the evening as suggested because, currently, hubby and I are really into drinking Matcha tea before bed). However, the one thing that I’m not so keen on, is the fact that it contains sweeteners. I’ve always disliked the taste of it. Hubby had one sip and decided not to drink any more (he dislikes sweeteners more than I do). But… if I add a spoonful of honey to the mix, it helps mask the flavour. I prefer to use hot almond or coconut milk in place of water too – just to give it a richer, deeper taste. It’s actually quite tasty.

I can’t really comment on whether or not the products have assisted in any weight loss, because, to be honest, I haven’t actively been trying to lose it. I know I’m not overweight. My biggest problem is fitness. Or rather the lack of it. However, if I was actively trying to lose weight, I would certainly continue with The Skinny Caffe. I’d try more of their products, such as their tea and skinny syrups, for instance. They’ve also got some really gorgeous weight loss journals for sale, which would certainly come in handy. So, if you’re trying to lose weight, I’d recommend you visit The Skinny Caffe and see for yourself.
