Enjoying the warmth of the sun on the Algarve’s west coast

After a dodgy week, last weekend we had a lovely day out enjoying the warmth of the sun on the Algarve’s west coast. The dodgy week was primarily due to me killing my MacBook Pro with beer. Okay, so it’s not entirely dead. It’s currently in hospital having the keyboard replaced – which is going to cost around 600 euros. Eek! That’s a mistake I won’t make again. Note, keep bottles of beer away from computer while reading recipes online :/

Not only that, but I also very nearly gave myself a concussion shutting a gate (!), and a couple of hours later almost got knocked out by a flying tree branch. It wasn’t literally flying – someone threw it! (they weren’t actually throwing it at me, I was just in the way)

So, a day out enjoying the warmth of the sun on the Algarve’s west coast, was exactly what I needed. As we had some close friends staying with us for the weekend, we decided to head out for lunch. En-route we stopped for coffee and cake at a really good cafe (pastelaria) in Rogil and then had a delicious meal in Arrifana, but more on those in a couple of future posts.

Before we stopped for lunch, we decided to check out the castle at Aljezur. We have been once before, but it was probably well over fifteen years ago (not that it’s changed much!). Last weekend, the weather was glorious and the views simply to die for. The castle walls protected us from a cooler breeze, allowing us to soak up the sun and it was wonderful.

My outfit was a simple one. My favourite skinny Levi’s, black and pink Converse and a pretty pink and purple tee flourished with a hint of Victorian frills. It’s one of my favourite tops because of that. I also added a hint of animal print with this black and grey cardigan. I quite like the clashing prints here.

After a bit of a dodgy week, it really was lovely just chilling out and forgetting about the 600 euros we’d have to spend to fix my computer. Not only that, but I’ve obviously been without my MacBook for a whole week and I miss it. I’m having to borrow hubby’s for the time being, but it’s a bit of a pain to say the least. All being well, I should have mine back some time this week. Fingers crossed!
