A new favourite Portuguese brand: Lion of Porches, and new Calla boots

Last month we bought several things over the Black Friday weekend. It’s the first time we’ve ever done that but we’re thrilled we did because we got some real bargains. These gorgeous Calla ankle boots were the first purchase. I’d been drooling over them online for a few weeks so when I spotted the discount across the entire store, I immediately ordered them. Next were my sparkly Doc Martens which you might remember from my previous post and several posts on Instagram lol!

Having bunions is such a (literal) pain so when I discovered Calla earlier this year, it was like my feet sighed in happiness (not to mention utter comfort). These ankle boots are no exception. The moment I put them on, I was in heaven. It’s literally like putting on a really comfortable pair of slippers that you can wear out! They’ve been worn a couple of times but they’re now packed in the suitcase ready for our holiday. I’ll definitely be wearing them on Christmas day too. I’d describe the colour as more of a ‘greige’ than a grey because they don’t match any of my grey tights. Luckily I just happened to have a pair that go perfectly which I’ll also be wearing for Christmas. I do love this colour though, and it looks fab with jeans!

Here, I wore them with one of my pairs of skinny Levi’s and my gorgeous new Lion of Porches poncho. Lion of Porches is one of our new favourite Portuguese stores. We popped in to their outlet store on Black Friday and were very pleasantly surprised by what was on offer. The quality of their clothes is second to none. Hubby bought a few things and when I spotted this poncho, I just couldn’t resist it. I’d been looking for a poncho for a few weeks and this is one is simply perfect. Not to mention gorgeous – such a fab shade of blue, right?

We have since returned to their regular store at Algarve Shopping and hubby bought a few more shirts because he was so impressed. They’re not cheap though! But you do get what you pay for. My poncho is still available in their current sale for 57 euros – reduced from 115! I’m wearing a s/m and I’m about 5ft 4 and a size 10. Here’s the link just in case you fancy one yourself!
