That’s what I’m talking about

* MASSIMO DUTTI *

Have you noticed one of the most common lines in movies today is, ‘That’s what I’m talking about!’? And it’s usually expressed in some kind of exclamation (I reckon Eddie Murphy started it all off in Trading Places). Well, this is my new, regular, blog feature. ‘That’s what I’m talking about’ is basically about stuff that I think is cool. Sorry for using the term ‘cool’ but it’s just my age, I use it… a lot.Massimi Dutti LogoWhere was I? Oh yes, my cool thing for today? Massimo Dutti. It’s one of my (and my hubby’s) favourite boutiques. It’s got that something special about it. It’s also got a signature scent. If you ever frequent this fashion store, you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s got such a divine smell, I want to own it. I want my house to smell like it. I want the perfume 🙂

Massimo Dutti is a Spanish company that started out in 1985 selling only men’s clothes. The women’s department arrived a few years later in 1992. It now has numerous stores around the world and those of us that live here in Portugal, are lucky enough to count the Algarve among them. If you’re in the UK, London has a few stores too. If not, you can buy online (YAY!).

If you want quality, then this is the place for you. If you’re seventeen years old and are looking for the latest, craziest trends, then you might want to head on over to Stradivarius or Bershka  instead. I would say that Massimo caters for the slightly more mature buyer, someone who wants quality and timeless pieces.

We visit the store a few times a month (mainly because we want to have a good sniff) and usually to have a good mooch around. Occasionally we’ll come out with a treat.
For instance, last week I found the most fabulous pair of suede boots (pictured above) half price in the sale! They’re simply divine and I can’t wait for this weather to cool down so I can show them off. A month or so before that, I tried on THE most beautiful blue evening dress but figured I’d probably never wear it so reluctantly returned it to the hanger. A couple of weeks later, lo and behold, it was in the sale. Needless to say, I snatched it up! Now I just need to find there perfect occasion to wear it. Hmm? Maybe the movie premiere when it’s ready! Hubby is even worse than me in the sales though. He simply cannot resist Massimi Dutti… and nor should you.

Find Massimo Dutti on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest (pictures of all their gorgeousness can be found on there).

What’s your favourite boutique? Do you have a special one nearby that you just can’t resist every time you’re passing? Or do you travel further afield to tempt your style tastebuds? I’d love to know. Leave me a comment below with links to your favourites. I wanna check them out!
