Rock chick chic: a style I’ll still love when I’m 80!

Rock chick chic is one of my favourite looks. It’s one I’ve always loved, and one that never goes out of style. And all it takes is a badass black leather jacket and a fabulous pair of boots 🙂

Rock chick necklace

Take off the jacket and the outfit loses it’s edge somewhat, but add a funky necklace and it takes it right back to being rock chick chic. This necklace is just a cheap one I bought from Primark years ago. I love the fact that it has three strands to it (one is hidden beneath my sweater because it’s a bit short. I’d love to find a decent necklace like this in silver – something I know won’t wear out!

Pink plaid

I know the pink and grey plaid shirt doesn’t scream rock chick chic but when combined with the rest of the outfit, it kinda does… in a way. It could easily be worn with a grunge look or a goth look too – depends what you like, right? 😉 I’ve always been a bit of a closet goth myself lol.

The shirt was from H&M a couple of years ago and I love the soft flannel cotton. It makes it really comfy and just a tad warmer than a regular shirt. The other day I talked about buying clothes in the kids section of H&M. This was actually bought from the adults section but my neighbour’s daughter, who is eleven, bought one very similar for herself in the kids department!

Black leather

This particular look is a bit heavy on the leather, but it still works. Black leather jacket, black leather, black leather handbag – all scream rock chick chic to me 😉

Dr Martens Regina boots

Dr Martens Regina bootsAren’t the boots divine? I bought them years ago from Schuh (a favourite shoe shop of mine). They’re actually Doc Martens. I’ve looked for a similar pair since but I couldn’t actually find any. I just love the fact that they’re chunky, badass but girlie at the same time and also have heels. And who doesn’t want a pair of boots like that? I’ve tried to find them online but I’m struggling (they’re called Regina in case you want to search for yourself). The closest I could find are these from Dr.Martens online.

Skinny jeans

I’ll still be rocking skinny jeans when I’m 80

I nearly forgot to talk jeans. I mean, the rock chick chic look needs a good pair of skinny jeans. And I don’t care what anyone says about them going out of style. Who the hell cares anyway?! Skinny jeans are fab, I’ve got loads of them and I’ll always have loads of them and I’ll ALWAYS wear them. Hopefully, I’ll still be rocking the skinny jeans when I’m 80 😉

I bought this pair from Levi’s when we were in the States. I’d seen this colour in another store and was desperate for a pair. Unfortunately they didn’t fit well so I was delighted to find this pair in a Levi’s outlet in Rhode Island – for just $25!! In Portugal, they’d five times that. Crazy! They’re high waisted which I love because it enhances the curves. And I know they’ll look fab with a cropped top too. You can buy them in John Lewis at the moment for £85 – not exactly the bargain I found though!

Nearly forgot to mention these earrings, which if memory serves me correctly, I also bought from H&M years ago. I’ve got a thing about wings – angel wings to be more precise. I own a couple of pairs of angel wing earrings and I think they have a bit of a rock chick chic vibe to them too. Aren’t they fab? Excuse my poor skin at the moment – for some reason, I keep getting spots but I’ve no idea why. It must be down to hormones bleurgh!
