Why I’m addicted to scarves: they’re versatile, fun and make a statement

My name is Suzy Turner and I’m addicted to scarves. There, I said it. I’m addicted to scarves. I can’t help it. They’re just the best, most versatile accessory to completely give any old outfit a boost. Wouldn’t you agree?

Here’s proof that I’m a little obsessed with them…

I admit that I’ve never spent much money on scarves though. That is something I find difficult to do… probably because I’ve never spent an awful lot of money on anything, to be honest lol. If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know I do love a bargain, which is what most of these scarves were: bargains.

My most recent scarf is this beautiful denim grey one with hints of rose gold. It was a gift from the fabulous My Posh Shop at Not on the High Street and I know it’s going to get A LOT of wear! My Posh Shop specialises in precious accessories to suit all tastes and budgets and there’s lots of wonderful gifts for you or a loved one, to choose from. If you’ve not heard of Not on the High Street, it was created ten years ago in order to showcase unique, stylish and never-before-seen products that are hard to find anywhere else.

I added the scarf to a simple day-to-day outfit in order to make more of a statement. Skinny jeans, Ugg boots, a grey sweater and my black leather jacket made up the outfit but it was the scarf that made it a little more chic. With the Ugg boots being so casual, I figured the leather jacket would elevate the look too. Not to mention my new Desigual handbag, of course! I bought it for a steal in the new Designer Outlet in Faro.

The dogs seem to like it too…

Accessories

I was given this beautiful rose gold ring from my mother-in-law for my birthday. Isn’t it stunning? The earrings are a pair I’ve had years and the Ugg boots were a birthday gift from hubby back in 2008. I remember the year because it was during our very first visit to the States 🙂

Scarves can totally change the look of an outfit – it’s a fun way to add a bold print, a contrasting colour, or even the same colour in a different shade. There are loads of ways to make a statement using scarves and that’s why I love them so much. Not only that, but if you buy them big enough, they’ll also double up as sarongs in the summer. Or small enough, and you can use them like neck ties.

You might remember this post about wearing dresses with jeans in which I wore another of my favourite scarves – I love the grey and pink together.

If you’re looking for something a bit different for yourself or for a gift for someone, then do check out The Posh Shop at Not on the High Street.
