A little bit dressed up for an Indian dinner at home

a little bit dressed up

Hey gorgeous readers, I got a little bit dressed up the other night so I thought I’d show you. How are you doing? Are you coping ok? We’re both fine, and fortunately, so is everyone within our families. My heart breaks though, every time I put on the news or read a news article about Covid19 and how it is affecting the world that we live in. But I’m not going to talk any more about it, because we need to be distracted at the moment, right?

So here I am, a little bit dressed up, in an outfit I’ve kind of worn before. It’s a very old black crochet-style dress that I do believe I bought from eBay many moons ago. It’s one of those dresses that doesn’t get worn very often (for some reason), but I do like it! Here’s a super cute version with a lovely gathered shoulder detail and another by Desigual which is GORGEOUS! My favourite way of wearing it is with jeans of course (I’m nothing if not predictable sometimes lol). So on this occasion (Indian food with hubby, cooked by hubby and eaten in the comfort of our own home on Saturday night, I might add), I wore the black crochet dress with my Tiffosi jeggings and my favourite black ankle boots from Calla (THE most comfy shoes for bunions EVER).

Calla Shoes

I spotted this pair of jeggings in Tiffosi late last year and snapped them up for less than ten euros (if memory serves me correctly). I don’t usually wear jeggings, purely because I hadn’t found the right pair. Luckily this pair was perfect. And I love to wear them beneath dresses because you don’t get the little bulge from the buttons and/or zip.

Because I was getting a little bit dressed up, I added a few accessories, like this beautiful blue necklace (guess who from? Yes, you’ve guessed it – mother-in-law lol). Isn’t it lovely? She also gave me several others in different colours. And the really awesome thing about it (which I didn’t realise until I got undressed for bed later), is that the magnetic clasps come completely apart so that it can be become two separate necklaces! Neat, huh? I’ll wear them as separates next time to show you.

These gorgeous blue Indian earrings were another gift from her, as was the rose gold Fossil watch and the Michael Kors rose gold bangle too (similar here)! The sparkly Swarovski ring, however, was a gift from hubby several years ago. It was a complete surprise. And he said he’d bought it because it reminded him of fairies, and he knows how much I love stuff like that (have you read my young adult books lol?)

When I stood outside by the pool and hubby stood in front of me with the camera, his first comment was that my outfit made my legs look super short. Do I care? Nope. I love jeans with dresses and boots so no, I don’t care lol. (He did say I looked lovely though, so that’s ok then!) It was nice getting a little bit dressed up, even though we weren’t going out. I even painted my nails!

Anyway, that’s about it for now. I hope I’ve managed to distract you for five minutes or so. Stay safe my lovely friends. I’ll be back soon with some more book news! Lots of love xxx
