The Fab40s are styling an outfit inspired by fire

I love being a part of the Fab40s! We have so much fun every month styling an outfit around a theme chosen by one of us gals. For the past few months we’ve been styling the elements. First water, then earth and today we’re styling an outfit inspired by fire. Fun, right? If you’re in your 40s and would like to join us, please just get in touch with Ada, Daenel, Shelbee or myself. We would absolutely LOVE to have you. And you don’t need to have a blog, you could simply share on Instagram!

I’m sure you’re wondering how we styled an outfit inspired by fire, right? Well, let’s have a look. We’ll start with my fiery outfit…

So, initially I had absolutely no idea what I was going to wear. I do own a red dress but I wasn’t over keen on wearing that one because it is a little snug around the belly (and lately, I’m so self conscious about my belly because it seems to have grown…I blame hormones!). I also own a red pleated skirt but again, I’m not too keen on it. I’ve actually been looking for a long flared red dress to use in my photographic self portrait art and I just happened to find one the other day YAY! Isn’t it cute? It’s even got pockets! And it was an absolute bargain at €15.95 from a local shop in Portimão.

The necklace is rather special, isn’t it? I bet you can’t guess where it came from?!! LOL only joking…you already know, don’t you? It was a gift from my mother-in-law. She went through a phase of buying Indian jewellery and she’s given me quite a bit. It has matching earrings too but it just seemed a bit much with the dress. It would look fabulous all together with a much simpler outfit—jeans and a plain tee-shirt for example.

You might have noticed that I chose to accessorise with black. The reason is because, as I’ve mentioned several times already (don’t you just love SEO lol), this is an outfit inspired by fire. And what does fire lead to? Well, soot of course. And soot is black lol! I do love stating the obvious, don’t I?! So, my black leather clutch was my first choice. I would have worn black earrings but I couldn’t find any that went with the necklace—they were either too long and dangly or too plain. I shall have to remedy that situation! I’m also wearing my simple rose gold sandals from Aldo. If I’d had them in black, I’d have worn them too!

So that’s my fiery outfit. Let’s see how the other gals styled their looks for this theme…

First up, is the FABULOUS Mireille from Chez Mireille who will be joining us from now on! YAY!

Mireille’s dress is simply stunning! And I love that she’s wearing a mustard beret to match her mustard sandals. And check out that amazing fire pit! I would love a fire pit in my garden. Perhaps for the new house?!

Ada, Elegance & Mommyhood

What a totally cute little red dress, Ada! I love the floaty short sleeves and the leopard print sandals add a certain edginess to this look. I love it!

Daenel, Living Outside the Stacks

I think Daenel is the queen of boho chic. And this outfit proves it. The dress with all those orange tones is perfect for the sizzling summer months and I love that she teamed it with flared jeans. It’s exactly the kind of thing I would wear. And that necklace is the icing on this fiery cake. Gorgeous!

Shelbee, Shelbee on the Edge

Isn’t this outfit absolutely freaking gorgeous?! I love that Shelbee has incorporated cowboy boots, satin, a kimono, a rock tee-shirt and a hat!! She really is a genius, right?!

And me…in my very simple but super pretty new red dress…
