I found my calling | Think Like Queenie

Think Like Queenie

Gosh, I just realised the last time I posted anything on this blog was last October! I’m so sorry about that. I guess I’m guilty of neglecting you somewhat, aren’t I? Well…there’s been lots going on of late. Most of which you can read about on my lifestyle and fashion blog, The Grey Brunette (the gist of it: we’re finally building a house). But I wanted to touch bases with you to let you know about my latest venture, Think Like Queenie.

Ever since I was a young woman, I have been fascinated with anything related to empowerment / inspiration / motivation / self-help (for want of a better word). I think it stems from losing my mother at such a young age (I was 13), and then losing someone else (Carol) who was very dear to me when I was barely eighteen. It all kicked off with the book, You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. It had been a book that was given to me by Carol, who insisted that, one day, she was certain that I would be ‘enlightened’. I’ve always carried that message with me, and subsequently believe my own confidence and sense of self and purpose are because of what she taught me.

I had fully intended to pursue a career in psychology before she died, but when she suddenly and unexpectedly passed, I found myself unable to continue down that path for various reasons. But the fascination for the subject never really left me.

Fast forward quite a few years, and I thought perhaps one day I would write my own kind of ‘self help’ book. I still think about doing that, and I know I will at some stage. But recently, another idea came to me—that I should start a female empowerment / inspirational channel on YouTube. It didn’t take me long to get it going. Before I told anyone about it, I wanted to make sure I had plenty of content so that’s what I’ve been working on for the past month or so.

The channel is called Think Like Queenie and my alter ego is named Queenie Darling. Neither my voice, nor my face, have appeared on the channel. Instead I have been crafting videos to help empower women using video of all kinds (as well as AI voices). There are many inspirational stories about successful women over the centuries as well as from today, guided meditations, health and wellbeing videos, stories of empowerment across the globe, movies and songs to inspire and empower and much more. The aim of Think Like Queenie is to help as many women as possible; to give them that little push to follow their dreams, to stand up for themselves or to feel completely empowered and impassioned to live the life of their dreams. I want women to be strong, and to think like a Queen—to be the Queen of their own life, so to speak.

I would love it if you would consider stopping by the Think Like Queenie channel, and subscribe if you’re a woman interested in that kind of stuff! And please give the videos a like, and most importantly, share the channel with any women you think might like it. The more views and likes it gets, the better chance it will get of being seen by women who need it right now. Thank you so much! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you.
