Some days things just all seem to come together, leaving you feeling really good about yourself. And this occasion was one of those days for me. Perhaps it’s because I was wearing one of my favourite combinations: jeans and dresses (like here and here, for example). My growing-out-in-between-usually-a total-mess hair was actually looking good and glossy (yay for hair straighteners). Even my silver streak was behaving itself…
And my choice of clothes made me feel like a strong and confident woman. Or maybe it’s simply because I just completed my yoga teacher training YAY!! (Sorry, you’re probably so sick of hearing that lol.)
The shift dress, a favourite from Primark a couple of years ago, is one of those dresses that they’ve usually got in stock each season, featuring various patterns and colours. It suits a whole host of shapes and sizes and I really think you can’t go wrong with it. For example, team it with thick opaque tights and knee high boots in the winter or with strappy sandals in the summer. Whatever you go for, it’s bound to leave you feeling really good about yourself!
On this particular occasion, I opted for jeans and ankle boots along with one of my favourite summer purchases: the tasselled crochet cardigan I found in C&A for next to nothing. The cute tasselled necklace also came from Primark. The scarf was a gift from a lovely old friend who moved away a few years ago 🙁 And my black leather handbag is a favourite from Marta Ponti (a Portuguese handbag designer).
A beautiful day
It was such a gorgeous day when we shot these photos – a glorious Sunday morning with the most beautiful blue skies – although it was a tad fresh in the shade, hence the scarf! The pictures were taken halfway between the Monchique hills and my house. A lovely location, don’t you think? But like I mentioned already, it’s usually a combination of things that leave you feeling good about yourself – a great outfit, a beautiful location, good food, good company but it’s a general positive attitude that has the biggest influence to make you feel good, right? But what about you? What do you do on days that leave you feeling really good about yourself? What’s your secret?
