Early summer heat, a new BBQ area and a spring outfit

It’s super hot right now here in the Algarve – we’ve got the fan on full at night and we’re almost about ready to transition over to the air conditioning! The heat has come early this year but we’re hoping it might cool down just a little bit over the next week or so. These photos of a spring outfit were taken several weeks ago when the weather was cooler and a denim jacket was needed for evenings out. The dress I’ve got on beneath it even has long (ish) sleeves!

It’s funny as the summer progresses, I’m always wishing it away! With the heat comes more cars on the road, heaving supermarkets and difficulty squeezing into our favourite restaurants without reservations. However, it is such a lovely part of the world and it is nice that so many people agree 🙂 I am very fortunate to be able to call this place home – and have done for 33 years now.

Hubby has recently completed our barbecue area, which we’ve talked about for so long, and last night we used it for the very first time, with our lovely neighbours. The only thing missing is some comfy seating which we’re now on the look out for. It’s only a small area so it’s got to be quite a little sofa or two comfy chairs. Ideally I would love something I can lie down on to read a book! But we’ll see. I’ll post pictures when it’s complete 🙂

There’s a new shop in our local Retail Park called Jyske. Have you heard of it? It’s Danish. I haven’t been in yet but I’ve heard it’s pretty good. In fact I might pop in today whilst hubby is out motorcycling. I’ll let you know what I think of it. Conveniently it’s right next door to a rather large shoe shop….!

A spring outfit

But back to my spring outfit. It’s nothing special – I’ve worn everything on the blog before, just not all at once. A simple floral dress (with a blue vest top to give some coverage), denim jacket, skinny jeans and my favourite girlie sandals from Calla (they are seriously comfy!). Oh, and a blue handbag and gorgeous tree of life necklace. Both of which were given to me my fabulous mother-in-law.
