A to Z Blogging Challenge: Y is for You

This one is all about you. Yes, you… the one reading this right now. I think we spend so much of our lives looking outward. Thinking about other people, comparing ourselves, wondering if we’re doing enough, being enough, are enough. And somewhere along the way, we forget to turn that attention back to ourselves.

So let’s do that for a moment. You’re amazing. You’re beautiful. You are, quite literally, miraculous.

And I don’t mean that in some fluffy, over-the-top way. I mean it in the simplest, truest sense. You’re here, living this life, experiencing everything that comes with it — the highs, the lows, the in-between bits — and that alone is something quite extraordinary.

When was the last time you actually looked at yourself properly? Not critically, not picking yourself apart, not focusing on all the things you wish were different… but really seeing yourself?

YOU

If you stood in front of a mirror right now, what would you say? Would you be kind? Or would that familiar voice creep in — the one that notices the flaws, the imperfections, the things you’ve never quite made peace with?

Because I think most of us have that voice. I know I have. But what if, just for a moment, you chose something different? What if you looked at yourself and spoke the way you would to a friend? With warmth, with understanding, with kindness. What if you reminded yourself of all the things you are, rather than all the things you think you’re not?

Because the truth is, you’re so much more than you give yourself credit for. You’ve lived, you’ve learned, you’ve grown. You’ve got through things you probably never thought you would. You’ve changed, adapted, evolved… and you’re still here. That matters.

YOU

So maybe this is just a gentle reminder. Not to strive for anything more, not to become someone else, but to come back to yourself. To recognise your worth, your strength, your uniqueness. To see yourself, really see yourself, with a bit more softness.

Because at the end of the day, it all comes back to you. And you… are more than enough.

This is something I touch on in my book too — that idea of self-acceptance, kindness, and learning to see yourself in a more compassionate light. If that resonates, you can find it on Amazon and if you google The Enchanted Midlife by Suzy Turner, you will also find it on numerous other online bookstores (it’s available as an ebook AND a paperback—and in Portuguese too!).
