Wide-legged green trousers and versatility

Last week I finally wore my soft green corduroy trousers again and it just strengthened the fact that I absolutely love them. They’re so soft and comfy! Like PJs! I wish there had been other colours available – I would have bought them all lol. But there were only two pairs left in the Promod sale. These and another in a larger size. The only thing I’m not over keen on is the waistband, which is a bit chunky but I’m willing to overlook that.

Green trousers

The last time I wore them, it was for the Fab40s ‘favourite decade’ theme. And, with my love for all things forties, I teamed them with a classic pussy bow blouse, cardigan and red heels. But, to be honest, I prefer these comfy green trousers with my sparkly Converse All Stars!

green trousersVersatility

I’ve always loved really wide-legged trousers. I find it to be such an elegant style – even with trainers. Actually, the next time I wear them, I might even try them with my new oatmeal coloured Nikes. I think that could work too. Like jeans, these trousers are pretty versatile. And versatility is something I often look for when I’m shopping for clothes – items that can be worn in a wide variety of ways. Is that something you look for?

sparkly top

This sparkly top was a firm favourite the moment I set eyes on it in Zara last year. I still kick myself for not buying it in navy too. I wonder if anyone’s selling theirs on eBay? lol (I’ll have to check!). The top has only featured on the blog once even though I have worn it several times. It’s a great top for evening – to be dressed up or down (again, another great versatile piece) or to just add a bit of sparkle to an otherwise plain outfit.

sparkly gold Converse

The orange handbag was a hand-me-down from my glamorous mother-in-law, and I think it looks super with the colourful sparkly top and green trousers. Orange and green are such a fab combination, right? And as for the Converse, they were a real bargain in the States a couple of years ago. I first wore them for another Fab40s post (when I was a guest), and surprisingly, I was wearing green then too! Actually, that’s not much of a surprise for someone who is clearly nuts about the colour green (see this post, and another, and another! 😉

I almost forgot to mention the white scarf (which I wore when it got a little cooler later that evening). This was one of my many Christmas gifts from my mother-in-law. Isn’t it divine? I just love that it’s covered in little gold palm trees. I thought it went really well with my sparkly Converse!
