Reminiscing about Ireland in my new green poncho

It’s been a month since we returned from our holiday in Ireland but seems so much longer. So I decided to put on my green poncho and reminisce about the Emerald Isle…

You might recall my post last month about how I fell in love with Ireland. I certainly haven’t. I’ve started following a few Irish Instagrammers / Youtubers, etc to remind me regularly just how beautiful it is over there. Mossy Bottom, for example, is a guy who moved to western Ireland a few years ago and has been doing everything possible to live a sustainable life. His Youtube channel, still in it infancy, is fascinating!

I still think about those breathtaking vistas we saw while driving all over the southwest. The time we went off-track and ended up driving down a really scary (and rather narrow) mountain ‘path’, for example. Although scary, it was spectacular. Or driving around the incredible Ring of Kerry. Sigh…. oh how I miss it. I really do hope to return one day soon.

Every time I open my wardrobe, I spot this gorgeous green poncho and am reminded of the wonderful time we had. So today, I decided to put it on and show you. Isn’t it pretty? We bought it in Killarney (one of my favourite towns). I knew I wanted to buy something green from the Emerald Isle and the ponchos really spoke to me. I’ve loved them ever since I bought my blue one last year. They’re great at giving that extra bit of warmth. And can also brighten an otherwise plain outfit.

I decided to use my camera bag as a handbag, because I think it’s cute!

We took Luna down to Praia da Rocha for a little walk, and figured we’d get a few shots of my new favourite green poncho. I love how it stands out against the backdrop of the ocean and the blue sky. We were lucky with the weather. It started turning quite grey on the way home! Do you like all my green accessories? Possibly a bit of green overload but it is my favourite colour and personally, I just can’t get enough! Green floral earrings from Brigitte Bijou; ring which was a gift from mother-in-law; green leather bracelet from the Medieval Festival last year and pale jade bracelet from a lovely little shop in Silves called Namaste.

Oh…. almost forgot to mention. Those of you living here in the Algarve, Bijou Brigitte has re-opened in the Aqua Shopping Centre. I’m absolutely delighted because it was one of my favourite shops before. Happy dance 🙂
